LBCC is proud to support our undocumented students. Despite their incredible resilience and the unique experiences they bring to their academic journeys, undocumented students are ineligible for federal support such as Pell Grants and work-study programs.

Navigating higher education is further complicated by legal status, social stressors, and heightened anxiety. A study from UCLA found that undocumented students experience significantly higher levels of anxiety and constant fears of deportation, adding immense pressure to their academic pursuits. Since higher education is closely tied to higher earnings and economic mobility, supporting undocumented students is crucial for their success and California's economic well-being.
